Do you change your baby on a Changing Table?

When I got prego for the first time, everyone told me I needed a Changing Table.... so of course, I got one. When moved to a 2 story house I left The Changing Table upstairs and purchased a Changing Table Pad and set up an area in the laundry room downstairs. I'm always in there anyway, it already had a trash can. and had a nice flat surface. It's worked perfect for us.

But, I've been watching a baby story and whenever we go to other people's houses, I notice that other people change their children on the floor. I have had to do this a few times and within a minute my back is hurting from bending over and straining. I'm also always worried about some poop accidentally coming out on the floor.... so then I have a stain and feces on the floor where the kids place.... just seems unsafe all around...

So, where do you change your child?

PS: I didn't buy The Changing Table, it was a gift, so I didn't waste any money on it.

We always use the changing table but our house is 1 floor so there is no running up and down stairs - we also have a table with shelving for the diapers, wipes, all the supplies, extra pjs etc . . . . In addition to a sore back from changing them on the floor, we have twins and it is impossible to get 1 to stay still when the other is right there running around. I am not worried about staining as we have hardwood floors and foam tiles where the kids play.
