change the color of a field in an Access database form when data is added?
I have an Access database field that tracks whether or not a customer has received a discount. I want the field to be empty with a certain background color (dark grey for example) when the customer HAS NOT received the discount, but I want the background color of the field to change to white when we enter "yes" and/or a date showing that the customer HAS received the discount. The field is tied (a.k.a it's control source) to a field (named RecievedDiscountYet) in the associated table.
I found some code online that is supposed to do this color change thing for me but I just keep getting "Run time error '424': Object Required". The code I found online is shown below:

RecievedDiscountYet.BackColor = vbWhite
End If

Use Conditional formatting - as long as the control is NOT a checkbox (you can't change the color of a checkbox). Go into form design, select your control, on the menu go to Format->Conditional formatting.
Condition 1:
Field value is ... not equal to ... Null.
Choose your colors, OK.
