Should a daycare provider be putting a potty trained child on Change Table for wiping?
I run a home daycare. I have a little boy who is fully trained. He needs some help with wiping his bottom after BM. I have always asked parents of any child needing assistence to provide flushable wipes. They are a bit more pricey than standard baby wipes which plug the toilet. Well, we've been doing that and teaching him how to wipe, etc. Well, now mom says she wants me to be putting him on the Change Table and using baby wipes on his bum to be sure it is all clean and because they are cheaper. She doesn't want skid marks on his undies (it isn't like a mess, I do what I can). Good grief. Do I just do this demand? It isn't something I really think is warranted, on the other hand she is paying me so do I just do whatever she wants? He is a big boy and the other kids his age might think this is strange too to be getting wiped like the babies. He is 3 years old by the way, and hasn't been on the change table or in diapers for 6 months. Any honest insight?
I certainly wouldn't want to put a potty trained child on The Changing Table in a daycare setting, it could confuse him and he is too old to be pants-less outside of the bathroom.
This boy needs to be learning about wiping his butt, you don't want him to be 5 and still expecting someone to pop him up on The Changing Table. People who use the potty need to be wiped in the bathroom.
Plus, do you really wanna carry a pantsless poop covered butt across the room to the changing table? That does not sound sanitary.
