What To Buy When You Are Expecting A Baby Girl
It is oh so easy to get carried away with buying cute little outfits and bits and pieces for your soon to be born baby girl, but some restraint may be needed unless you want a cardiac arrest when the credit card bill arrives at the end of the month. There are certain essentials that you will need, but sometimes when it is your first baby it is hard to know exactly what you need and how many of each item you will require.
Baby Cribs can be dressed up very nicely to look feminine for your imminent baby girl. Make them girly by buying quilt sets and sheets in pinks or girlish prints. You can also accessorize parts of the cot to look more feminine, however you should be careful that nothing you add would become a potential choking hazard. If you are thinking about having more children later on, then avoid buying a cot that is too gender specific.
You can make the cot very girly by choosing a mattress, blankets, sheets and pillows that are pink or in girlish prints. You may also be able to decorate parts of the cot, while making sure that you are not adding any choking hazards or anything that could hurt the baby.
When you are buying clothes for the baby do not buy too many clothes in the new born size as they grow out of them very quickly. It is better that you buy more clothes such as girls sweatshirts, rompers and so on in the next size up from newborn.
Babies are messy little beings and you will find that you go through an inordinate amount of little girls t shirts and vests as they get wet on, vomited on, slobbered on etcetera. You will have to have enough on hand to have a couple that are ready to go, a couple that are in the wash and a couple in reserve for especially messy days.
Other items that you will need for your new baby are plenty of baby wraps and blankets. If your baby is born in summer or the warmer months, then muslin wraps are a great choice. A baby's ear thermometer is also a good item to purchase and have ready for when teething and snuffles start up.
You can buy so many different things when you are expecting a baby and if it is your first time it is hard to know what items are essentials and what items you can live without. If it is your first baby, then talk to other mothers that you know about what items they recommend and what items you do not need to spend the money on.
