cranberry carpeted living room... what color should the walls be painted?
I'm not into warm shades at all but I don't plan on changing the carpet anytime soon. The carpet is cranberry colored and the walls right now are antique white. The moulding and trim are bright white. I have a large entertainment center that's a dark mahogany wood. My couches and tables on the other hand are light fabrics and a lighter shade of wood (yeah, it doesn't match with the entertainment center--but I'm not too concerned with the entertainment center because its on its last leg.) What colors--excluding reds, yellows, grays, or deep browns-- would dress up the room without being too dramatic or bold?
Also, I have a 9 month old daughter so I know the paint has to be washable. The problem is, I have old plaster walls with a lot of imperfections, so higher glossed paints show these imperfections really well. However, I don't have the time to sand or spackle over the dips and bumps. So if anyone has some helpful hints on that as well, it would be greatly appreciated.
